CAST IRON ELECTRODE ENIFE-CI 3.2MM (9 ROD PACK)
$91.00 inc. GST
In stock
Platinum NiFe 3.2mm Blister Handy-Pack (9 rods)
Features & Benefits:
- Popular and versatile NiFe-Cl type cast iron welding rod for high strength, hot or cold welding of; cast iron to itself (incl. grey / malleable, nodular, SG & austenitic cast irons) and cast iron to steel.
- Machineable weld deposit. Extremely soft, smooth arc with low spatter.
- Weld metal is stronger and more resistant to solidification cracking than the pure nickel electrode types (such as Ni-Cl).
- Classification: AWS ENiFe-CL.
- Available in blister/handy packs & 1kg re-usable packs, in 3.2mm.
KEY FEATURES:
- For hot or cold welding of cast to cast, or cast to steel
- High strength
- Available in blister handy-pack or 1kg re-usable pack
- Easy to use & suitable for low OCV (open circuit voltage) welding machines (>45V)
APPLICATION INFO:
- Recommended for repair and reclamation of all standard grades of grey / malleable, nodular, SG & austenitic cast irons and some grades of meehanite cast iron
- Stronger and more resistant to solidification cracking than the pure nickel electrode types (such as Ni-Cl)
- Fully machinable weld deposits
- Applications include: machine bases, pipes, gear teeth, pump bodies, heavy machine sections, flanges and pulleys
- Suitable for hot or cold welding (with or without preheating). Note that preheating and postheating is recommended for best results, see Cast-iron welding guide for more details
OPERATING INFO:
- Polarity: AC ± or DC ± (electrode + or -)
- Typical current range 3.2mm: 60-100A
- Minimum recommended OCV (open circuit voltage): 45V
- Ensure base material is clean.
- Use low current & keep short arc length.
- If welding restrained parts, use short staggered beads to minimise risk of cracking
- Avoid excessive current (heat) as this will increase risk of cracking
CLASSIFICATIONS:
- Classification: AWS ENiFe-CL
TYPICAL PROPERTIES OF ALL WELD METAL:
- Tensile strength 500 Mpa (Nmm2)
- Composition %: C1.26 Mn0.80 Si0.66 P0.005 S0.003 Ni57.25 FeBal’
